Best Laptops For Video Editing Under 1000

Video editing is not just creativity. It is the right proportion of skills, practice, and tools.

Besides a good video editing application (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Final Cut, Davinci Resolve), you also require a powerful laptop that helps in smooth editing and rendering.

Gone are the days when you had to use desktop PCs for video editing.

Now cute-looking low profile laptops are so much power to help users get the desired video editing tasks done.

In this post, we are going to do right that.

To help video editors like me who despite having the right skills due to low budget lacks wishful results.

What to Expect from a Laptop under $1000 for video editing?

When it comes to video editing, more than one factor are needed to be considered. It is a package that makes video editing seamless.

No doubt, it is a resource-intensive task and requires a good laptop that comes with high-end specs.

These laptops are great for video editing for the price. I am not saying, these are better than premium range laptops, but for the price, these are the best option.

Let’s see what makes a laptop stand out for video editing.

Processor

You can’t get by any processor the tasks such as video editing. It is one of the resource-intensive processes that require a good CPU onboard. In the above-reviewed laptops, we were very conscious of the processor power.

The one criterion that we are giving to you to instantly decide whether the CPU is good for video editing or not is its clock speed. See if the processor has a base clock speed of 3 GHz, it will smoothly function for you.

The processor should have multiple cores, as they are got more tunnels to send and receive information.

I would like to suggest at least a core i5 processor with the 8th or 9th generation. Though the market is already flooded with the 10th Gen, and the 11th generation is just released now.

Intel’s i7-9750H is a good processor for us, and most of our model has also featured the mentioned processor.

Graphics card:

I must say, for video editing, you must house a discrete graphics card. Though, most of you might not agree with me or say integrated graphics cards are enough to get the ball rolling.

It may be good for basic video editing, but for professionals, it is not. They must require a good graphics card with a good dedicated capacity.

I would like to suggest GTX 1650 or GTX 1650 Ti. You may have RTX 20-series but they would be expensive and the racket would go beyond our budget line of 1000 dollars.

Storage:

You require bulky storage for video editing, everyone knows.

But, do not go with HDDs they are not suitable. They are slower, and not efficient for permanent storage. They have actual moving parts that make them a bad storage option.

On the flip side, SSDs are great but expensive. But, you must opt for SSDs storage for booting.

Many laptops also come with an extra bay you can fill them up with HDDDs to use permanent storage. But, for booting, there must be SSDs.

I would recommend 512GB SSD storage for the price. And we can easily have this much storage under the price radar.

RAM:

Through the course of this long post, one thing I learned, 8GB is not sufficient for video editing.

Do not put yourself in trouble while opting for 8GB RAM for video editing.

At least have 16GB RAM, if the laptop does not have 16GB, use external RAM or use the extra slot to upgrade it.

Display

A vibrant colorful display is as important as RAM and other specs in video editing. A display that does not produce accurate colour will not make an ideal laptop for video editing.

It will ruin your shoot and entire editing experience.

Look for an FHD display that offers 1080P resolution with IPS and anti-glare panels. Give special consideration to the display and check the minor of the details.

Without a good display, you cannot be called a good video editor or videographer.

Now, let’s read our best laptops for video editing under the mentioned price range.

Video editing is one of the intensive tasks laptops have to pass through. To get that done you require a powerful laptop with high-end specifications.

It is really hard to find a good video editing laptop for 1000 dollars, but ASUS offers its flagship model under this price range.

As per our criteria of video editing, it seems the model overkills us. It has a 1TB SSD, GTX 1050 graphics card, and Core i5 processor.

Let’s discuss its main specs in detail and see the model can be helpful in the editing zone.

It has AMD Ryzen 7 3750H four multi-core processors. The processor is good to go for intensive tasks. We require this good processor to pass through our casual video editing chores.

Keep in mind, the processing power of the mentioned processor is equal to as of I7. You can imagine the workload the i7 processor can tackle.

Its graphics section comes filled with a GTX 1050 Ti graphic card of 2GB memory. The graphics are good to go, for video editing, programming, Gaming, Virtual Machine setup or 3d modelling and rendering, and even some high-end graphics-intensive workload.

It has 8GB memory, I do not think that is good enough to tackle the workload of 4K video editing. If you do, you will be doing only video editing no roaming around for browsing, and other apps running.

So, when editing a 4k video, better to close all tabs and stream things to get things rolling without any issue.

Its storage is one of the sweetest spots. It got 512GB SSD storage that is enough to help you store larger files without any issue.

You can copy, store, and edit 4k videos without any issue, without facing slow booting-up or data-transfer speed. It is amazing to see good SSD storage for the price.

It comes with a 15.6 inches FHD IPS display. Its display comes fitted in nano bezels for an extreme level of immersion.

The narrow bezels around the display make you enjoy more screen area in less physical space. Its colour production is good, you enjoy eyepopping graphics at accurate colour production.

It has a decent range of connectivity. You get three total ports to connect peripherals.

You have two USB ports and one HDMI port along with an audio jack for enhanced connectivity.

It has one of the nicest Backlit Keyboards that is good to type with. You get wide space keys, with nice tactile feedback, making you type through long typing work without any issue.

Moreover, its ADC cooling system is one of the finest mechanisms that act as an immune system.

Not only it expells the excessive heat but dust particles enhance the overall lifespan.

  • Graphics: Integrated

I have repeated it more than once, would like to iterate once again; it is hard to grab a good powerful laptop with all the required specs under $1000 price.

Still, we can manage to grab those specs which are important to us for video and photo editing. This model is a great fit for the price, with some cutting corners.

It comes powered with an 8th Gen  Intel Core i7-8550U processor that goes up to 4.0 GHz clock speed. As long as the processor and its power are regarded, I do not think you will have a single issue, even when editing 4k videos.

You can take on the model for professional photography as well.

You can run the entire Adobe Suite including Photoshop with no problem.

It has a Mammoth 32GB RAM. Yes, HP seems like designed the model for a professional video editor.

Video rendering required a bulk of memory, and when it is a 4k video, it takes more than your expected time. With this range of memory, you can render and edit heavy videos at a blazing fast speed.

It has Intel UHD 620 graphics card. Not an ideal option for video editors should have been better than this. With the mentioned graphics, you cannot go by 3d modelling and designing work.

It has 2TB HDD storage. Great to see a magnificent amount of space to store up larger files. But, the lack of SSD halts the issue. Overall system speed lags and you see slow boot-up and more time in rendering. You can get the issue solved using external SSDs storage.

It has a nice 15.6 inches FHD IPS display with a micro-edge. You enjoy an immersive, full-of-colour video experience and enhanced resolution. The display makes you enjoy smooth, crisp, and as lively as the world around your images.

Get your recent videos onboard for editing and get them edited without losing their frames, sharpness, and illuminance.

Its ports and connectivity options are impressive. You get to see 2 USB 3.1 Type-A ports and One USB 3.1 Type-C port with a data transfer speed of 10 Gb/s.

It is a thin profile laptop, portable as well. Its thickness falls at 0.7 inches with 4.25 pounds overall weight. It makes a great laptop for a professional video editor who travels a lot.

The battery of the HP Pavilion laptop is good to go. It has 8-hours of long runtime on casual use and light browsing. Expect some hours of shreds for casual and professional video editing.
